John 6:47

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life."

John 6:47 (NASB)

My salvation is not something I strive for or work at. It is not based on my Christian heritage or being the son of a preacher. It is not the result of my willingness to pray a certain prayer or testify before an assembly of believers. In fact, it isn't anything I can boast of at all. It is ALL God's work! We are eternally saved solely because God decided to choose us, grant us belief in His Son, and give us into the caring hands of Jesus.

Living Water for Today: John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." For today, appreciate how simple, yet powerful, God's message is for you. It is not whoever works, labors, strives, or achieves, but whoever believes in God's Son has eternal life.
