Isaiah 9:6—Everlasting Father

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father ..."

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

The Jesus born at Christmas had no beginning and no end. He is God. He is "eternal life." He imparts that life to us. That's why no believer truly dies (our spirit/soul lives on). He is our eternal "Father," who loves and cares for us more than we could ever care for our own children. (Matthew 7:11 NASB, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!") How blessed are we?
