John 7:17-18
"If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."
John 7:17-18 (NASB)
The phrase "he will know" comes from the Greek word γινώσκω ("ginōskō"), which in the book of John refers to an active fellowship with God. It doesn't mean something grasped as an intellectual understanding; rather, something known experientially. For example, the foundation of every Christian's experience of God's love is on an individual and personal level - we feel it, not just understand that "God is love" in our head.
