Galatians 5:16-17a

"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another."

Recognize that you can never defeat your flesh by trying harder yourself, but only by resting in the fact that greater is He who is within you than he who is in your flesh (1 John 4:4). As you remain sensitive to God's Spirit in you and to His word, He defeats your flesh and gives you more of His peace and joy!
