Romans 7:20

"But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me."

Romans 7:20 (NASB)

In this verse, we clearly see that our flesh (our humanness) often acts in ways contrary to our heart's desire, e.g., we lose our patience, but we don't want to! This is evidence God lives in me, even though I still see things in my flesh every day that I don't like.
