John 15:11

"These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full."

John 15:11 (NASB)

The purpose of God's Word is to fill our lives with joy. It's not to confuse us, make us afraid, or feel guilty. God's purpose is always to encourage us and cause us to look forward to our true home in glory. (Romans 15:4, "For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.")
