Luke 22:61

"The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, 'Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.'"

Luke 22:61 (NASB)

The word "looked" means Jesus looked with compassion upon Peter because He knew the weakness of his flesh, and that His upcoming crucifixion would soon remove all his and our failures as far as the east is from the west! (Psalm 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.") What great mercy! Praise the Lord!
